Overview

The Gospel message has two dimensions to the Christian life: the mountain of exultation and the valley of service. First is the mountaintop where we encounter God; an intimate, loving and caring God. That God intimacy is where we feel our souls refreshed, where we find a new motivation for living our lives. And then there is the valley where we must maintain our lives and our responsibilities, where we reach out to those who are hurting, where we, the body of Christ, are at work daily. Two dimensions (mountain and valley) and we live in both.

The mountaintop is not enough. It prepares us to live in the valley of service. Jesus came down from the mountaintop to go to the cross.
