What do you want from God? Isaiah’s first servant song praises the qualities of both justice and mercy. It is a dilemma. Surely we want God’s justice on the one hand and mercy on the other. We demand from a God of righteousness for justice to reign. But, you know, then again, we are aware of God’s of compassion, mercy, and grace. Justice and mercy are God’s expression of power and sovereignty and we obviously want and need BOTH / AND.
