Faith in Action: Sharing Christ’s Love Beyond Our Walls

At First Christian Church, we believe that living out our faith means sharing God’s love in tangible ways — both in our local community and around the world. Through our outreach ministries, we give regularly to organizations that provide food, shelter, care, and hope to those in need.

Each month, we highlight a project to bring attention to specific ministries making a difference. This allows our congregation to learn, pray, and give intentionally as we partner with groups doing God’s work near and far.
Together, we strive to be a church that not only gathers for worship but also goes forth to serve — embodying Christ’s compassion in our everyday lives.

On-Going Projects

Habitat For Humanity

First Christian Church began its ministry with Habitat for Humanity in 1992 with a busload of unlikely helpers with little to no experience with home building. Since then, we, along with other churches volunteers, have completed 28 homes! Our 29th home will be started in 2026. Come join us with the wonderful, full filling experience of providing an interest free home for a needy family who, without our help, could never afford a home of their own.

Little Free Pantry

Our church is the site of a free little food pantry! This is a no questions asked access point to food for hungry members of our community!

All are welcomed and encouraged to fill the pantry.

Contant: Rev. Alyssa Burton

Schedule to fill the Pantry Jan - July 2026

Huntsville Assistance Program

First Christian Church has longstanding relationship with the Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP). We serve as a drop off location for donations; provide monetary support, and occasional volunteer support as needed.

HAP is a local non-profit that provides emergency food relief and finance assistance in Madison County.

There are a few ways you can engage with the mission of HAP at FCC:
1. Drop off food donations to the cart by the sanctuary.
2. Sponsor a food basket in honor or memory of a loved one. Cost: $25
