Rev. Paul J. Allen, IV
Paul Allen was born in Wilson, North Carolina but moved to Wichita Kansas when he was ten years old. Both of Paul’s parents were ministers and they were also Regional Ministers. His father, Paul, was the South Central Associate Regional Minister in Kansas and his mother, Barbara, was the Area Minister in Missouri. He also has a brother, Carlos, who lives in Wichita, Kansas with his family. Paul attended Barton College from, 1993 – 1997, graduating with a degree in Religion and Philosophy. He also minored in Drama, sang in the Barton College Choir all four years, and served as a local youth minister. Paul attended Lexington Theological Seminary, 1997 – 2001, and was ordained in his mother’s church…Martinson Avenue Christian Church in Wichita, Kansas in June of 2001. His first church was in Farmville, North Carolina, 2001 – 2010, and then he served in Manhattan, Kansas, 2010-2017.
Patti Allen is a Registered Nurse, who has worked in Intensive Care Units, as a traveling nurse, and as a float nurse, who moves from department to department. She earned her RN at Pitt County Community College in Greenville, North Carolina 2009 and graduated at the top of her class. Prior to earning her RN she studied one year at Phillips University in Oklahoma, then two years at Barton College. Patti is currently looking for a nursing position in Hunstville. Her father, Michael, lives in Manhattan, Kansas as does her sister Kristina. Patti’s brother Sean is in the Air Force and lives in Derby, Kansas with his family.
Paul and Patti met each other while attending the Martinson Avenue Christian Church when they were in the 6th grade. They both attended the “Downtown Law, Public, and Social Services Magnet High School” for their last two years of high school and graduated in 1993. They did attend the requisite high school rite of passage (the prom) together in Paul’s mom’s 1987 Chevy Corsica. On July 19, 1997, just prior to Paul entering the seminary, they were married at the First Christian Church (downtown) in Wichita.
Later, on May 6, 2003, Abby was born. The name on her birth certificate is Amberlea Elaine Allen, and on June 4, 2007 Joe joined the family. The name on his birth certificate is Paul Joseph Allen V.
