Sermon Title:             Holding on and Letting Go

Sermon Theme:         It takes a great deal of effort to hold on to our preconceptions about God.  We struggle and fight to make our lives and the lives of our family easier, only to wonder where the money goes at the end of the month.  We desperately try to find time for the things we believe are important only to realize that there is never enough time.  Weak and exhausted, we collapse.  Yet, Jesus tells us that if we finally decide to let go, realize who is in charge of our lives, where our authority comes from, and begin to trust in God the pressures and fears of our lives suddenly release.  It may feel strange at first but as time passes and God works through us, we can begin to tap into the power of the Spirit and soon we feel as if our load is lightened.  We feel free.
