Sermon Title:                      What Holds Us Captive?

Sermon Theme:                  If God freed the Israelites from the bondage of slavery won’t God free us as well?  Like the Hebrews we are called to find our own identity and seek the vision that God has for us.  We know what binds us, turns us away from the power of God, and holds us captive in our daily lives, but what can we do about these things?  Do we believe that our sin and brokenness are too great for even God to repair, or do we place ourselves in the hands of God and humbly ask to be remade and restored?  Our question echoes the Israelites dilemma, who will we serve, that which holds us captive, or God?  For only through the power of God can we find service without bondage because with God, service is freedom.
