Sermon Title:                     The Canaanite Woman’s Faith

Sermon Theme:                 Today we learn about a woman of great faith and are reminded to persist, struggle to throw off the shackles that hold our faith hostage, and trust in our God.  But we are also reminded that as spiritual insiders we cannot overlook anyone.  The grace of God refuses to be held captive by our fear and distrust.  Instead, we are to see the face of Christ in everyone, welcome them into our community of faith, and offer them a place at the table of the Lord.  Thanks be to God who instead of giving us the scraps, offers us the full banquet.
