Sermon 2017-05-07 – “I Am His Sheep”

Posted on May 10, 2017, Pastor: Rev. Dr. Cameron Douglas

Interim Senior Minister, Rev. Dr. Cameron Douglas’ message is, “I Am His Sheep” based on John 10:1-10.

Overview

I am intrigued by the last part of John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Other translations say, “life abundant.” So what is that? Jesus invites us to continue our search for the good life by considering life in a sheepfold. I know, it sure sounds strange to us, but a sheepfold has one gate to enter and leave by in order to find food and protection needed to sustain life. Jesus is the sheepfold gate, and that door is always open to us, always. He is the way, the truth, and the life.

With Christ’s loving presence his mission becomes our mission; His cause is our cause; His ministry of healing and loving service is our ministry of healing and serving. The good life, the life that truly satisfies, exists only when we stop wanting a better one and savor the one we have! Rather than longing for what might be, LIVE in and enjoy what your life is already. Enough is enough, and Jesus is the source of life abundant and everlasting, and that’s enough!
