Scripture:                   Hebrews 7: 23-28, Mark 10: 46-52

Sermon Title:             Seeing With Your Heart

Sermon Theme:         We all live with fear.  There are some fears that connect humanity, the fear of war, losing family members or friends, or contracting a fatal disease.  Other fears are more personal, such as my fear of losing my sight.  What we fear is not as important as how we deal with our fear.  Fear can paralyze us, causing us to lose hope for the future.  Fear can shut us away from the rest of society making us slaves to the imagined horrors in our heads.  Bartimaeus looked past his fear on that day long ago and saw with his heart.  His courage allowed him to become a part of something special, an event that would change the world.  It led him to his calling and to his own ministry.
