Sermon Title:             When All Is Lost

Sermon Theme:         What do we say about the evil in ourselves or in our world?  First of all, we can be there for people. Not like Job’s friends, with poorly thought out platitudes, but we can be present and honest with those who have lost everything.  And I believe that when we are there, together, we’ll discover that God is there, in our midst and in our suffering. We can continue to fight for what is good and just, never bowing down to what we think is inevitable or the nature of the world.  Instead we are called to love, to care for one another, to sacrifice for the good of others, and to respond in times of crisis.
