The Genesis passage is the promise made by God to Abraham. It is a very important promise. Abram needed to trust God and so do we! Abram’s faith was fragile, but God’s promises are as solid as a rock! One of the fundamentals of this sermon series on Growing Strong is not to forget that the purpose of life’s tests isn’t to defeat us, but to make us stronger. We grow and learn by our tests.

God wants us to grow strong in our mental, emotional and spiritual lives and so God has placed us in a world that teaches and tests us. We may not like the tests we have to go through, they are not designed to defeat us, but to make us stronger. So endure, persevere, learn and grow from them.
