Sermon:                      The Good Shepherd

Sermon Theme: This passage is more than just a metaphor that fills us with warm feeling; this scripture holds the reality of life, the promise of death, and the glory of resurrection as well.  It contains the distinct promise that God cares for us all, that Christ will be with us till the end of time, and that we are one people, messy and in need of care, but loved so powerfully that the good shepherd lays down his life for us only to rise again bearing the gift of new life for us all.  This is the message and the glory of Easter, the faith that we celebrate each and every day, and the truth that we long for.
