Overview

To do the impossible, Jesus says, is to do it with prayer. Prayer is not a magic wand you wave to make things happen that you want to happen. It is not a shopping list of things for God to do for you. Prayer is ONE THREAD to the fabric of true Christian living and spiritual growth. It is a Spiritual Discipline that changes your life, just the same as Bible reading, Bible study, confession, service, and generosity are Christian disciplines that change your life.

What Jesus is saying is not that your prayer based on faith and belief will happen like water off a duck’s back, but YOUR ABILITY to do the seemingly impossible thing, when entered into prayer with faith and belief, can change the face of the earth. It can move mountains. You have in God the sheer strength and ability to DO something, even the impossible. But recognize that prayer is never the easy way out! Prayer teaches us to accept and in accepting to transform the situation.
