Sermon:                      Coming Down the Mountain

Sermon Theme:         Peter, James and John were changed that day because they encountered the mystical nature of Christ.  However, they also realized that this was not enough, they had to act on their knowledge and continue to follow Christ or else their experience would be wasted.  They waited until after the resurrection to speak about this event but obviously they shared the story.

They went out into the world spreading the message of Jesus Christ, founding the church, and living as transformed beings in the knowledge that they were are part of the family of God and it was their responsibility to share their experiences and the good news of God with all.

In the same way, we as Christians cannot spend our lives focusing on the heavenly because we have plenty of work to do in the valley.  We must listen to the message of Jesus and understand that one day will be transfigured as Jesus was on the mountain.
