Sermon:                      The Call to Ministry of All Believers

Sermon Theme:         how many ministers do we have in our church?  If the answer is three, then we have a lot of work to do.  But if we all see ourselves as ministers, if we all use the gifts that God has given us, then our congregation can and will have an impact on our community and the world.  But this means that we have to equip each other to be ministers.

What the Corinthians forgot, and what we sometimes cannot understand, is that if we are all called to be ministers then perhaps the very definition of ministry needs to be evaluated.  It is often said that Disciples are so varied that we lose strength because of our diversity, therefore in a world that seeks answers all we provide is more questions.  Yet, I believe that we are stronger because of our diversity.  We all have different beliefs, gifts, abilities, and strengths and all of these are necessary to build up the family of God.
