Scripture:       Luke 2: 41-52

Sermon:          Home Alone

Sermon Theme:  In the movie Home Alone we are introduced to Kevin and his Paris bound family.  In the midst of chaos Kevin becomes agitated with everyone in the home and tells his mother Kate that he wished everyone would just go away and never return.  Kevin awoke the next morning only to find that his wish had come true. However, Kate was unaware that Kevin was not traveling with them.  Once the chaos ended and the families flight had taken off did Kate realize that she had left Kevin in the attic at home.   Imagine that leaving your child home alone and not knowing if he was ok.

Well that was the case for Mary and Joseph.  They were chosen to be the parents of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  They were not given an easy task and this becomes apparent to them when they discover that they have left Jesus behind.
