Sermon Theme: The section about money focuses on true discipleship and how wealth is often the most common distraction from such discipleship. Our attitude toward money is often the pulse of the heart of our discipleship.

Storing treasures in heaven includes, but is not limited to, tithing our money. It is also accomplished by acts of obedience to God. Jesus calls for a decision that allows us to live contentedly with whatever we have because we have chosen eternal values over temporary, earthly treasures.

Jesus tells us to have faith in God as the ultimate provider of our needs. We cannot serve God effectively if we are consumed by anxiety. Instead of worrying over what might happen, we should work toward what will happen—as long as we “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness”.
