Has anything ever happened to you that, from that point on nothing can ever be the same? From that point on everything changes. If it hasn’t happened to you yet it will. Our Hebrews text addresses this focal point event as it relates to our faith being on eternal things and not on earthly or temporal things.

The promise of the gospel is this: as long as we cling to our quake-proof sanctuary, our place of refuge and protection, which is the mercy and love of the resurrected Christ, we will be perfectly safe. Evil tries to take us away from our refuge, our God. But God is our rock and the ROCK bottom truth is that God’s power is greater than any evil that ever has or will exist.
