At First Christian Church (DOC) Huntsville, our Children’s Ministry is all about helping kids grow in faith in ways that make sense for them. We meet children where they are—encouraging curiosity, wonder, and a love for God through hands-on learning and age-appropriate experiences. Each lesson, event, and activity is designed to help children discover who God is and how much they are loved.
Through creative Bible lessons, interactive worship, service projects, and fun fellowship events; we nurture faith that takes root and grows. Our goal is to build a strong foundation where children not only learn about God but also experience God’s love in community.

Worship And Wonder
3 years old-2nd Grade
An exciting and imaginative approach to faith formation, Children Worship & Wonder invites children to experience God’s presence through storytelling, reflection, and worship. In this sacred space, children hear the stories of the Bible and respond out of their own life experiences, discovering the meaning of faith in ways that are natural and personal to them.
Through this ministry, children learn about the rhythms and traditions of worship and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of the church community.
Location and Time:
Children Worship & Wonder meets every Sunday during the 9:30 a.m. worship service, immediately following the Children’s Moment. Children will be escorted to the Worship & Wonder room directly from Children's Moment! This ministry is open to children ages 3 through 2nd grade.

Young Disicples
3rd-5th Grade
Young Disciples offers an engaging worship experience designed especially for older children as they grow in faith and prepare to participate fully in the life of the church. This ministry blends elements of Children Worship & Wonder with the structure of traditional worship, creating a bridge between children’s worship and the broader congregational experience.
In Young Disciples, children are encouraged to take active roles in worship through Scripture reading, prayer, and music, developing confidence as young leaders in faith. The program provides meaningful opportunities for children to deepen their understanding of worship and discover their own voices within it.
Location and Time:
Young Disciples meets during the 9:30 a.m. worship service on the first Sunday of each month. Please see a church greeter for location information. This ministry is open to children in grades 3–5.

Wednesday Night Programing
From 5:30–7:00 p.m. each Wednesday (with a few exceptions throughout the year), children 3 years old through 5th grade gather for a midweek time of learning, laughter, and connection. The evening begins with a shared fellowship meal for all ages, giving kids the chance to build friendships around the table and experience the joy of church community.
After dinner, the children dive into a variety of activities that bring faith to life—Bible lessons that connect to their everyday experiences, interactive games that reinforce spiritual themes, hands-on mission projects that teach compassion and service, and plenty of fun just for the sake of fun!
Each week offers something new, but the goal remains the same: to help children grow in faith, friendship, and love for God and others.

Friends and visitors are always welcome!
