Overview

It’s a mystery. God works through human flesh. God works through you and me. It’s true that Jesus has no hands but our hands to do his work. Jesus has no feet but our feet to lead others on the way. Jesus has no tongue but our tongues to tell them the Good News. Jesus has no help but our help to bring people to his side.

This is why Jesus says to his followers, “You are the salt of the earth … You are the light of the world.” The Word of God does not return empty. It claims us. In fact Jesus makes a huge claim about us and gives us a huge identity. We are the salt and light of God’s redeeming love to the world. Wow, what a task we can only dream of accomplishing with God’s help.
