Sermon:                      The Word Became Flesh

Sermon Theme:         The Gospel of John does not have a birth account.  There are no tales of shepherds or wise men; no stable and no star.  Yet, that does not diminish the gospel because the true glory of Christ is not located in the story of his birth but in the wondrous love of God, the sacrifice of Christ, and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.  As we celebrate Christmas we know that there is no end to this story, because there is no end to God.  Jesus is with us past, present, and future; the Emmanuel continues to be born when we accept him in our hearts and lives, in us and through us.
