Interim Senior Minister, Rev. Dr. Cameron Douglas’ message is, “Are You Giving Up Chocolate For Valentine’s Day?”  Based on Luke 4:1-13

Overview
We all know what it means to be tempted. Jesus was tempted too. Jesus’ first temptation was to give in to his physical needs. The second temptation was to seek after personal power and glory, and the last temptation was to take an easier way out to accomplish his mission and thus avoid the cross.

Today we are beginning a sermon series on “Growing Stronger in the Season of Lent.” To be stronger against temptation like Jesus was, we must depend on God and look to Jesus for help. It is by grace (and grace alone) we receive the power to resist sin and stay strong. The author of Hebrews writes, “Because Jesus suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help us when we are tempted (Hebrews 2:18).”
